The 15-Year Journey to a Calmer Gut

Hi, I’m Ting.

My journey into the brain–gut connection didn’t start with research papers—it started in my own childhood home. I grew up in an environment where tension was the default, and everyone lived in a constant state of “fight-or-flight.” That nervous system pattern became my own, and eventually, my body started speaking for my mind.

By my teens, emotional stress had manifested as chronic IBS-C (constipation) and persistent anxiety. For over 15 years, I followed the traditional medical path:

✔ Increasing fiber intake

✔ Rotating through endless probiotics

✔ Trying restrictive diets and laxatives

None of it provided lasting relief because I was treating the symptom, not the system.

The Breakthrough: My Gut Wasn’t Broken, My Nervous System Was Overloaded

I finally realized that my digestion was governed by a nervous system stuck in “dorsal vagal shutdown.” By shifting my focus to the gut-brain axis and vagus nerve regulation, I was able to break the cycle of adaptation and finally find relief.

I spent years feeling trapped between two worlds that rarely spoke to each other:
